Helibiz was launched by Des & Karyn Davey (founders of Helireef in 1993) who decided to expand the helicopter sales business at Whitsunday Airport taking into account the natural beauty of the Whitsunday’s as a draw card for flight demonstration flights & training. “Geographically we are the only helicopter training school between Cairns and the Sunshine Coast”, which is a big plus for the local region and all those considering training as a pilot, both private and commercial.

Training
Our instructors are all experienced and well trained in a variety of helicopters ranging from heavy lift to the basic training two seaters. We pride ourselves in providing first class training in a friendly environment for all our students. We are a unique personal school here to train each individual to be a professional helicopter pilot, which will carry a reputation of the highest standard.
Safaris
Less than two years ago, Helibiz decided it was time to get people out and about flying in their helicopters, using their flying machines to explore this big beautiful country of ours with the company of others enjoying this fantastic lifestyle. We came up with a helicopter safari program that would see us exploring some of the most remote and renown locations all over Australia.
