Helicopters Pty Ltd was established as a training school by Grant Johnson, who has over 13,000 helicopter flying hours, including 5,000 instructing, and is one of Australia's most experienced Helicopter Flying Instructors.
If you have never flown a Helicopter you can take advantage of our special, no obligation, Trial Introductory Flights in which you fly the Helicopter with one of our professional Instructors. If you decide to take up Helicopter Pilot Training, this time will be included as flight time toward your license. We currently operate both the Robinson R22 Beta and the Bell 47G3B1 both for training.

Investment Required to become a Helicopter Pilot
Investment Required to Become a Helicopter Pilot Training will cost will depend on whether your goal is a Private or Commercial License, and whether you have previous flying experience.
Our basic price for the R22 Beta helicopter is $400 per hour and for the Bell 47 is $500 per hour. Discount per 10 hour block is available on request.The following hours are the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) minimums and may vary depending on the individual and their training schedule.
1. Private Pilot (Helicopter) License
If you hold a Fixed Wing License.
Minimum 38 hours - $14,250
2. Private Pilot (Helicopter) License
If you do not hold a Fixed Wing License.
Minimum 50 hours - $18,750
3. Commercial Pilot (Helicopter) License
If you hold a Fixed Wing PPL.
Minimum 70 hours - $26,250
4. Commercial Pilot (Helicopter) License
No licence held.
Minimum 105 hours - $39,375
